Monday, April 13 – 44 miles and 800 ft. Sunny and 75
In keeping with the art loving nature of the Vik, they have a wall in the restaurant that they allow their guests to sign. It is pretty full, so I added my touch in the form of a picture. Can you guess what I added? I am so artistic. Ha ha

After breakfast, we started the day with a tour of the organic garden at the Vik.

They don’t grow all of the produce that they need at the hotel, but they do get what they can from the garden. I was especially taken with the cilantro and the micro cilantro. LOL

The garden had large rosemary bushes along the edge to keep out the bunnies and other undesirables.

The waterwheel at the Vik was the first of many that we would see along our route today. The waterwheels were in different sizes and some were operating and some were not.

Lunch was a lovely family-style event in a restaurant along the route. The fruit was so fresh and plentiful and the sandwiches were good, as well.

In the afternoon, we rode through some trees with changing leaves. It was funny to see colored, fall leaves with palm trees next to the changing trees.

No trip is complete without at least one flat tire. It is nice that I travel with my own mechanic.

We finished the day by hopping a fence and crossing a dirt runway to reach our hotel.

We had an evening tour of the vineyard and the family cellar (where you can see the tandems stored just above) and finishing with dinner in the dining room of Vina La Playa.

I prepared the blog by the fireplace in the “living room” because the wifi would not reach our room at the end of the hall.

The shower was a solid 7. The water was hot, but the water pressure was a bit low, and the shower was a bit small.
