Sunday, April 19 – 44 miles and 3000 feet of climb; cloudy and cool
Today we set off from Pichilemu to Llico. There was a slight chance of rain, but we missed all but a few drops. We rode through places where the pavement was wet from rain, but we never were rained upon.
We encountered a bit of livestock on the road along the way today. It really makes me wonder what the barbed wire fences are keeping in or out?

Lunch was in a cute little restaurant in a very small town at the end of the road (it was a ride in and then back out). There was a beautiful garden between the restaurant and the beach…I am sure it is spectacular in the summer since I enjoyed the remnants of color here in the fall.

Bill had a nice grilled fish and salad. The Chilean salads all have beets, so now I like beets. Ha ha

Our guide showed us the following pictures taken in the town after the Tsunami that hit following the devastating earthquake in 2010. Thankfully, no one died in the Tsunami. The restaurant is the flattened building in the bottom left photo.

Here it is today.

After lunch, we rode along the river for a bit before coming back to the coast. Oh, and there was a four-mile stretch of nasty gravel that this tandem duo chose to take a lift through.

Our hotel in Llico was on a bluff overlooking the ocean. A beautiful sunset view as the clouds cleared just in time.

Finally, the shower here was at least a 9 – best one yet!
