Day 13: Off Day, swimming with the Manatees in King’s Bay and Floating the Rainbow River

Today was a day off in Crystal River and we spent it doing water sports. In the morning, we went swimming with the manatees and in the afternoon, we snorkeled down the Rainbow River.

In between, we had brunch at the Biscuit Barn and enjoyed “American Pie,” a biscuit with carmel apples, powdered sugar and whipped cream.

I could upload lots more photos, but you get the gist. Oh, the shower in our two-night hotel was a 6.5 and the internet was a 1.5.

Just wondering, how close did you get to the manatees?
We were pretty close to the manatees. It is illegal to touch them, but if they touch you, it is okay, you just can’t touch them back.
Great pics!
I didn’t know swimming with the manatees was possible. So cool!
Yes, apparently Crystal River/Kings Bay is the only place – at least in Florida – that you can swim with the manatees.
Caught up this morning on your trip. Loved the manatees!
Manatees sound fun!
