Day 3: Pascagoula, MS to Dauphin Island, AL; 43 miles, partly sunny, less headwind, 80 degrees
Today was a shorter ride and it was nice to have the afternoon off the bikes. We rode across a long bridge to Dauphin Island (a warm-up for the Keys) and are staying at the aptly named, Gulf Breeze Motel.

We had time to do a little laundry this afternoon. How many of you would put your clothes into these machines? I’m going to say that the rust is from the humidity. LOL

What do you do on Dauphin Island, you ask? How about visit a Fort from Civil War days, Fort Baines and apparently one of the battles fought here is where the saying, “Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead,” was first uttered by a ship captain. Very exciting, about 30 minutes will be sufficient to cover the Fort.

Dinner was at a local BBQ place and the shower is a solid 4. Poor water pressure and a bad knob did in the rating.
