Day 27 / Aug 2 / Oacoma, SD to Mitchell, SD / 76 miles and 1,100 feet / 97 degrees
Today, we started the day by crossing the Missouri River on our way out of Oacoma. The day was another hot one and now that we have left the dry west behind, we have found the humidity. More green = more water = more humidity.

About mid-day, we passed this field of sunflowers.

We ended our day in Mitchell, SD with a trip to the World’s Only Corn Palace. Bill and I went to the Corn Palace in 2021, so he skipped the trip this time and stayed at the hotel to do laundry. LOL

The Corn Palace changes the mosaics every couple of years. The mosaics are made completely of corn. The theme for 2024 and 2025 at the Corn Palace is Famous South Dakotans. I think there are about 5, including Bob Barker. LOL

Over half way, good job you two! Blessings 😊
Woohoo
On the green side of the trip!
I remember seeing signs for the Corm Palace but we skipped this historic event. Is it just murals or are there corn dogs and corn muffins?
