On July 7, Bill and I begin this bicycle ride in Astoria, Oregon. The ride is 52 days and will take us across the northern tier of the continental United States with a slight detour into Ontario before we dip our front wheel in the Atlantic Ocean in Portsmouth, NH. We hope to tack on one more day of riding from Portsmouth to Portland, ME to complete the “Portland to Portland” journey. A rough estimate says we will ride 3700+ miles with about 130,000 feet of climb during this adventure.
