Day 22: Marathon, FL to Key West, FL; 58 miles.
God is so good! We made it to Key West and to the Southernmost point in the continental U.S. today. We had no rain (except for about 5 minutes of sprinkles this morning) the entire time we cycled – just under 1,200 miles. What a blessing!
Our ride today took us over the seven-mile bridge…seven miles is a long time with a cross wind gusting periodically.

The following picture is a postcard of the seven mile bridge . It was a pretty cool ride, but I was glad to be off the bridge, gotta be honest.

Our first rest stop today was at the Key West Visitor Center a few miles after crossing the seven-mile bridge. I have to admit that my expectations for the Key West Visitor Center were something more than a poster attached to a pole for the sign. The visitor center wasn’t even open at 10 am. They are definitely on Keys time.

We also crossed about 20 bridges crossing channels connecting the Keys.

Our group waited about 45 minutes to get a photo with the marker at the Southernmost point.

While waiting in line, we saw this guy protecting our coastline. Good job, buddy!

We even rode to the 0 mile point on US 1 to get a photo.

We are enjoying the hotel…nice view and nice pool.

All these guys were keeping watch around the pool this afternoon.

Our shower at this hotel is a 8.5.
