Day 45 / Aug 20 / Niagara Falls, ON to Rochester, NY / 88.3 miles and 1,460 feet / 68 degrees with a few showers
Today we crossed Rainbow Bridge with a stop for a passport check at the border.

Once through passport control, we entered NY and began our ride to Rochester.

A chunk of our riding today was on the Empire State / Erie Canalway Trail. The trail is mostly unpaved and since it had rained quite a bit on Monday and overnight there were places of standing water and even when there wasn’t standing water, the trail rode like we were in quicksand.

Bill’s brother, Roger, who lives just outside of Rochester, rode out to meet us at lunch and then rode the rest of the way to our hotel. Here are Roger and Bill with the leaders of our trip, Dennis and Elli.

We were able to have a fabulous BBQ dinner in downtown Rochester with Roger and his wife Janet. It’s been so nice to see family and friends along the way.
Finally, here’s a wildlife photo or two.
