Day 37 / Aug 12 / Madison, WI to Milwaukee, WI / 87.4 miles with 2,503 feet

It was another pleasant day of riding in Wisconsin.

We rode through several communities and by Silver Lake. Bill and I have camped and cycled near Silver Lake in the past so it was fun to ride past it today.

Now that we are in the Midwest, our lunch spots have improved greatly! Today’s spot was at a Trail head of the Glacial Drumlin Trail, which we rode for about 10 miles. We also rode on the Hank Aaron State Trail around Milwaukee. That kept us off the busy roads getting into Milwaukee. We rode by the Wisconsin State Fair grounds in West Allis and Miller Park in Milwaukee.

Our hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn and is a historic building that was designed for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in the late 1800’s.

We even have the door to an old safe just across the hall from our room.
