Day 49 / Aug 24 / Latham, NY to Hancock, MA / 54 miles and 3,362 feet / Sunny and 91 degrees
Today we rode through Albany, NY, “crashed a local 5K on the trail, crossed the Hudson River and had our final ride on the Empire State Trail before riding into Massachusetts.

Before we could cross the Hudson, we had to figure out how to navigate a detour to make our way up the bridge. For some reason, six of us missed the detour sign in the picture above the first time we passed them. ; – )

After many days of not much climbing, we found ourselves in the foothills of the Berkshires today and so the climbing increased.

A contrast of old and new…

Signs of fall are starting to appear, so if you are thinking of getting out your fall decorations, it is apparently not too soon.
