Dec 15 – City Center tour and Tango
We arrived in Buenos Aires and were transferred to our hotel before hopping on a bus to go to the city center for a brief walking tour. We saw the “pink house,” where the president of Argentina does business, as well as the inside of the cathedral where Pope Francis was a priest – sometime before he became pope.

Inside the cathedral, there is a mausoleum that is guarded by two soldiers with a changing of the guard every two hours. The mausoleum is the resting place of an independence fighter, whose name escapes me as I type this…LOL
Also, in the square in front of the pink house is a recent monument where there has been added a stone for every victim lost to Covid.

Our evening ended with dinner and a show at Rojo Tango. The food was Argentinian beef and the entertainment included dancing, singing and an orchestra with a bandoneon, which is a bit like an accordion, but don’t call it that here.

Back to the hotel…the shower was about a 7.5. It was hard to control the temperature and the shower itself was very small.

Beautiful cathedral! Sounds like a busy day one. Love that you’re continuing the shower ratings 😃
Great to catch up with the two of you on the blog! Happy trails! Have fun, healthy and safe!
